Mary DeBoer, LPN
As Nurse Manager, Mary DeBoer loves the fact she gets to meet people from all walks of life. She says, “I listen, comfort and help our clients see that addiction is a disease without shame or guilt.” She believes that with good medical care and the right medications, clients can meet their recovery goals for life. And including families in the rehabilitation process brings added success to the journey.
Before coming to Sanford House, Mary worked as a sub-acute detox nurse. She is a Certified Narcan Trainer and serves on the Board of Directors of the Grand Rapids Chapter of FAN. (Families Against Narcotics). Mary is a wife, mother and grandmother. Family and God are very important to her life. In her free time she enjoys camping, long hikes and playing with the family “fur babies”.
“As long as there is breath there is hope… An addict is never lost to their disease. A kind word, a gentle hug or just taking a moment to listen may be all it takes to open the heart of an addict. My passion is to be that “hope” for a person in need and their family.”
