Congratulations Gail Hall – 2021 Eating Disorder Advocacy Award KHF

Gail Hall receives award for eating disorders

Advocacy Award? We are not surprised – Gail Hall receiving her award from KHF Board President, Iora Haglund

Congratulations to Gail Hall for being honored by the Kirsten Haglund Foundation (KHF) with their 2021 Advocacy Award! The #findingfreedom fundraiser raised funds for lifesaving eating disorder treatment scholarships and launched the foundation’s virtual transitional living program. Community, advocacy and love were apparent at an in-person gathering and zoom event in Troy, Michigan last weekend.

Gail Hall & Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders

Gail Hall, LMSW, DCSW, CEDS-S, has been a therapist treating eating disorders since 1986. She founded Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders (CTED) in 1998. Now Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders, this group of therapists and registered dieticians provide treatment in an intimate, personalized setting. They offer traditional outpatient sessions, as well as eating disorder specific Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), with Partial Hospitalization (PHP) day programs coming soon.

What’s in the works for Gail Hall and Sanford CTED?

“My biggest thrill about merging services with Sanford Behavioral Health, is looking forward to combining our expertise and resources. Because this will bring the complete continuum of care to individuals and their families struggling with eating disorders and substance use disorders,” says Gail Hall.

Eating Disorder Services

Advocacy Award? We’re not surprised. Gail founded the Michigan Eating Disorders Alliance (MiEDA), a 501(c)3 organization in 2011. MiEDA raises awareness, increases prevention, and decreases stigma for those who suffer from eating disorders. And Gail and her talented team at Sanford CTED are busy raising the standard of eating disorder treatment in Michigan and beyond. Programs offered are:

Outpatient Groups

Outpatient Groups are for individuals who want to learn from and work with others who are on a recovery journey. This option is currently a virtual group on Tuesday afternoons.

New Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

Sanford CTED is now offering both in-person and virtual tracks for Intensive Outpatient Programs. IOP tracks offer 3 hours of therapy per day, 3 days per week. Services include individual and group therapy, nutritional therapy and meal planning, nutritional education, therapeutically supported meals, and psychiatric support.

*Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) or Day Program Track

PHP or Day Programs provide a higher level of structure and support than is provided with IOP. Consequently, this track offers 5 days of services per week, 6 hours per day. Support includes individual, family, and group therapy; nutrition education; nutritional therapy and meal planning; therapeutically supported lunch and snacks; psychiatric and nursing support and monitoring. It also includes experiential therapy, with coping skill development, and exposure response work with food, cooking. and community outreach.

*Please call to get on the waiting list for this program and schedule an intake evaluation. As day Programs will be starting in the coming weeks.
