Recovery Palooza in Grand Rapids

Recovery Allies Marks 10 Years…

This past weekend, Sanford House founder Rae Green and Alec Green attended Recovery Palooza at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids.  Recovery Palooza is an annual event sponsored by Recovery Allies of West Michigan.  The event’s purpose is to end stigma, celebrate life after addiction and educate people about recovery from substance use disorders.  Recovery Palooza takes place every September during National Recovery Month. It is the largest celebration of recovery in West Michigan.  This year was its 10th anniversary.

Kevin McLaughlin, the director of Recovery Allies of West Michigan says, “The purpose of the Palooza is to honor those who work every day to live in survivorship, to offer information to those interested on how to initiate recovery and to show the community that life after addiction is to be celebrated.”
