The home is located in the second largest historic district in the country, providing a homey and comforting feel. The setting is psychologically safe, gracious and honors the work that is being done within the walls of the home. Because the house is rather large, it allows the Greens to create an individually crafted treatment program for each woman who comes through the doors.
Sanford House has a holistic outlook on the treatment process that encourages each individual to search for their strengths within, and then utilize and build upon those strengths throughout recovery. Addiction takes equally as large of a toll on families, which is why Sanford House offers family therapy and visitation programs, as well as outpatient and intensive outpatient programs. The Greens understand that addiction is a scary and destructive cycle, but wants to remind individuals and families that there is hope. Their mission is to let women know that a life of sobriety is one that is worth fighting for.
