Emily Welles, MS, RD, CDE
Registered Dietitian, Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders
Emily Welles is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator specializing in mental health, eating disorders
and diabetes. She started working in mental health care immediately after graduation and enjoys working with
patients to put the puzzle pieces together to live a healthy and fulfilled life. Emily pursued eating disorder care to challenge herself as a clinician and quickly realized she could make a big impact on lives every day.
At Sanford CTED, Emily works with patients to identify and overcome their barriers. She provides evidence based, non-diet nutrition information and helps dispel myths that are floating around about health. Emily builds relationships with patients and encourages them to be their best selves.
Emily and her husband love to listen to music at home and at concerts. Dave Matthews Band and Taylor Swift are two of their favorites. The couple have an English Bulldog that they love to nickname and belly-rub.
Emily says, “One of my favorite quotes is, ‘It is okay to be sad/mad/frustrated/disappointed, but it is not okay to give up.’ Eating disorders can bring you down, but you are stronger!”
