Mackenzie has her Culinary Degree from Secchia Institute for Culinary Education. She also has a certificate in Hospitality Management.
Sanford House clients also benefit from Mackenzie’s experience. She worked as a chef for another treatment center in Grand Rapids. And was awarded Junior Culinarian of the Year from the American Culinary Federation. Mackenzie says she loves everything about her job. She is able to teach clients about nutrition and the importance of eating healthily in early recovery. And introduce them to all aspects of wellness.
In her free time, Mackenzie coaches Special Olympics. She is also Marketing Chair on the board of directors of the American Culinary Federation of Grand Rapids.
Mackenzie says, “Nutrition plays a positive role in recovery. We give our clients the tools they need to rebuild their bodies after the damage addiction has done. My goal is to assist people to flourish through their recovery and for the rest of their lives.”
