Thomas L. Moore, LMSW, LLP, CAADC, MAC, CCS
Tom Moore is a leading light in the addiction treatment world. He is a master at synthesizing forty years of career concepts. Tom has experience in alcohol outpatient services, private practice, West Michigan Addiction Consultants (WeMAC), and through several mergers, Cherry Health.
Along the way, Tom became a part-time (award winning) instructor for Western Michigan University, in both the Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology Department (CECP). He also spearheaded the Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SPADA). Tom is the author of peer reviewed journal publications. He also appears as an expert in videos on cognitive treatment, and has participated in several research studies. Tom also co-produces a series of videos on trauma-informed care and supervision with Laurie Markff, Ph.D.
Tom is currently owner and founder of Two Moons LLC. At Two Moons he provides training, consulting, coaching and counseling. He has been on the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals since 1989.Tom also serves on the MI-FAST team for the state of Michigan. He has served on the Co-Occurring Disorder (COD) Leadership Team, and the Substance Use Disorder, COD Advisory Committee. Tom was one of the original planners for Grand Rapids’ annual celebration of recovery and coined the name “Recovery Palooza”.
In his free time, Tom enjoys exercise, meditating, movies, books, spiritual pursuits and a vegetarian lifestyle.
Tom says, “Compassion, empathy and desire to help those who are afflicted or affected by substance use disorders represent necessary qualities. However, these qualities are insufficient without abundant knowledge, technology and expertise.”
