WGVU News Interview: Founder Rae Green on Addiction in West Michigan

Sanford Addiction Treatment Centers Founder Rae Green sat down with WGVU journalist Daniel Boothe. Daniel and Rae talk about the state of addiction in West Michigan and Kent County. They address: the opioid epidemic; the rise of drug and alcohol use in West Michigan since 2017; and the deemphasis of alcohol related deaths in the shadow of opiod use.

 

Rae Green is the founder and President of Sanford House Addiction Treatment Centers. Working on the front lines of drug abuse, she says, the epidemic is absolutely growing, but another problem often gets overlooked, and that is West Michigan’s propensity to abuse alcohol. Daniel Boothe
